Baby chickadees are here!

We have not seen them yet, but Momma and Daddy have been very busy feeding them.

Momma and Daddy barely fit in and out of the opening, but they squeeze themselves and in and out they go!

I love the entertainment that Creekside gives us.

Bird House

Years ago, Michael found this old bird house on the ground under one of our trees.

Mr. Williams, the former owner of our house, had built the bird house a long time before that.
On a whim, Michael mounted the bird house on our light pole a few years ago.

He did it just because the house was cute.
Little did we know that a Momma and Daddy Chickadee would move in, built a nest and are preparing for babies. If he had known, Michael would have updated the home, like fix the leaks!
The chickadees must not mind, since they usually live in hollowed out trees.
While I put labels on boxes, I can look out the window and watch the parents fly in and out of their home.

I cannot wait to see the babies!

Beautiful Bird

We saw our first Indigo Bunting this evening. 

He was enjoying the seed at our feeders.

He is so beautiful!

Main Street America

As I have been packing mixes for stores that ordered from the Minneapolis Mart Gift Show, I find that almost 90% of the stores have a Main Street address. This is so exciting to me! Small town America has beautiful gift stores and people are buying local. We love being "Made in Michigan" and "Midwest Made."

We Saw It Again!

I am so excited to say that we saw the International Space Station this evening.

Our local news mentioned that it was in our area tonight.

When I went to the NASA web site,

I found that the Space Station has been passing by our area for the past week.

Tomorrow, we get to view it for five minutes!

Genesis 1:14 He also made the stars.

I love space and I love that God created the heavens and the earth. Wow! Overwhelming!

This is one of the hardest posts I have to make. We have a store owner in Waupaca, Wisconsin who refuses to pay her bill. Instead of letting Christine get away with it, we recommend that you visit her store and tell her that you are there to pick up your free mix. Take up to three mixes. We would rather have you enjoy the mixes on us, than let her profit from her greed.
We sent seven varieties of mixes. Choose from Garlic Cheese Beer Bread, Pesto Beer Bread, Orange Cream Cookies with the mini zester, Root Beer Cookies, Wisconsin Sugar Cookies, Dark Chocolate Cabernet Cake and Cinnamon Roll Cake.

Gloomy Day, Pretty Trees

 Even though it is cold and gloomy and rainy outside, 

God can still make it pretty.

 I peeked out the window and saw the raindrops on the trees.

At least this large amount of rain is not three feet of snow!

Scared at night

Only in our walk home from work, can we get scared at night.

Not by prowlers or bad guys, but by critters!

In the 100 foot walk from our commercial kitchen to our home,

we encounter deer, racoons, possums, squirrels, turkeys and other critters that move in the night.

It would not be so bad, except we startle them, then they jump, then they run crashing into the woods,

then they scare us!

Oops, I forgot our neighborhood skunk. We really do not want to startle him!

Every night is an adventure!
