New Orange Chocolate Cookie

It took me weeks of begging before I could convince Michael to bake an orange chocolate cookie. The orange cream cookie is to die for, but I also love chocolate with my orange. He finally gave in and tried a new recipe for me. I think they are great!

He thinks they need to be tweaked, so I will keep "suggesting" that he make them until he loves the recipe. I love being the taste tester!

If you like orange and chocolate combined, please post on the comments. If enough of us keep up the suggestions, Michael will make it happen.

Our Creekside Home after the blizzard

When we bought our farm house six years ago, Michael immediately named it Creekside
(he names all of his homes, cars and motorcycles).

When he decided to offer his baking mixes for sale,
he called the company Creekside Grains.

Beitner Creek runs through the property.

Michael was so impressed by God's handiwork after the blizzard,
that he walked around in knee deep snow to capture the beauty.
I want to share the images with you.

You cannot see much of it, but there is a 125 year old maple tree on the left of the image.
That tree is one of the reasons that we bought the house. It is huge!
The trunk is eight feet in diameter.
The branches reach up to the sky!

The bridge on the labels and on the web site connects each side of our property.

It is almost hidden because of the heavy, snow laden branches covering it.

This bridge is a great place to hang out when I get overwhelmed with life!
The rapidly running water and the view make everything better.

Michael's cookies help, too!

What a Day!

Yesterday was a gorgeous day.

I split wood for the fireplace, with warm temperatures and a shining sun.

Suddenly, it started to snow.

Michael was baking cookies in the kitchen and looked out to find his wife covered in snow!

It snowed and snowed and snowed!
After snowing and blowing for a few hours, we got ten inches of snow.
It quit as quickly as it started!

Michael unburied the car from the snow drifts this morning,
came to work and watched the snow melt all day in a heat wave.

What a difference 24 hours can make!

At least I got to eat a few cookies after I melted all of the snow off!
